In February 2016 I had a pleasure to meet the wonderful and powerful woman in the coffee industry of Ecuador. Her name is Ena Galletti. She runs her specialty coffee shops in the capital of Quito and also works with different coffee producers around Ecuador to select the best the country can offer for the export to the specialty coffee roasters around the world
“At Galletti we work with small coffee growers in Ecuador and have managed to consolidate nine special coffee proposals.”
I visited the Galletti factory and had an awesome experience to learn about the whole production including export, sorting, milling and quality control of Ecuadorian coffee.
“In Galletti we see coffee as a way of life. Therefore, we assume the commitment to promote better economic and social conditions that empower hundreds of women coffee farmers in Ecuador and allow them to have a life free of violence. This is the story of Café mujeres.”
This is my tribute to the woman who made the change and brought coffee of Ecuador to the international level. Thank you Ena.
